Welcome to the Add Health Parent Study
The Add Health Parent Study (often called, the Parent Study) is an ongoing project that builds off the National Longitudinal Adolescent to Adult Health Study (Add Health) that your child(ren) were enrolled in in the mid 1990s. The study is currently in its second phase, looking to learn even more about the health of parents, just like you!
Add Health Parents are Important!
The Add Health Parent Study is interested in learning more about parents like you, aged between 50 to 90. Our goal is to understand how getting older affects things like memory, taking care of loved ones, and staying healthy. We are also interested in how these aspects of life might be connected to your children’s health and well-being.
By taking part in our study, you’re helping us figure out what it means to age well. We hope that what we learn will make a real difference in the lives of people your age and in communities across the country.
Join us in this important journey of discovery. Your experiences and insights are invaluable to us!
The in-person interview collects important information, measurements, and assessments that will be collected in person by trained examiners. The in-person interview will be conducted in 2 parts: a survey with a cognitive assessment, and the collection of saliva and blood samples. This helps Add Health researchers gain a better understanding of the physical and cognitive well-being of adults in your age group. Participants who complete the survey and cognitive assessment provide the Parent Study Team with the valuable data for our research and have the chance to learn more about their own current health.
